Archbishop Hebda’s Letter to Families

Our Lady of Fatima, we entrust this letter to you and all who read it. We ask for your protection as we seek to foster the renewal of holy marriages and families in our local Church. Guide us in modeling the pursuit of holiness to our children.

Grants us the grace to see the gentleness of your immaculate heart as we encounter our own brokenness and the brokenness of our families.

Show us the depth of your Son’s sacred heart and infinite mercy. Through the lift of His resurrection, He conquered all sin and darkness.  Help us to trust Him as we serve our families and neighbors, striving to be united in this life and the next—our eternal home with God our father.

Our Lady, Undoer of Knots, pray for us.

Saint Joseph, Guardian of the Holy Family, pray for us.

Jesus, we trust you.

Archbishop Hebda’s Letter to Families Is Here!

We know family life can be messy—even Jesus, Mary and Joseph lived amid the harsh realities of their own time. And our Church wants to walk with you and your families through those struggles, joys and everything in between. Read Archbishop Hebda’s pastoral letter to families, “Only One Thing is Necessary,” available now at archspm.org/familyletter. Alongside it, find a Small Group Guide, podcast recordings in both English and Spanish, and a way to order your own hardbound keepsake version of the letter. Copies are also available in the kiosk. It is Archbishop’s deep desire that, in it, every individual in this Archdiocese will see his or her role in the great task at hand, what’s at stake, and how we can all strive to be united with our families and with each other, in this life and the next. Holy Family—Jesus, Mary, and Joseph—pray for us.

Here at St. Bridget’s we have ordered several copies in English and Spanish. They will arrive in the coming weeks.
